Typed up meeting minutes from 1937

In 1938, Everett L. Harris became one of the earliest members and the first West Coast representative of the Investment Adviser Association (IAA). The IAA was the first organization to represent investment professionals compensated solely for providing investment advice rather than through the traditional practice of selling financial products on commission.

The IAA helped establish a code of principles that the U.S. Supreme Court later cited in affirming that investment advisers are fiduciaries under the Investment Adviser Act of 1940. This fiduciary duty underscores our obligation to act solely in our clients’ best interests.

Today, the firm's investment team includes seventeen seasoned professionals, each averaging more than twenty years of experience in the financial services industry and over fifteen years with Everett Harris & Co. As partners and shareholders, our team is deeply committed to the long-term success of our clients and the continued strength of the firm.
